Champlin Park Girls Basketball Team Advances with OT Win
The Champlin Park girls basketball team beat Spring Lake Park 74-67 in two overtimes in the Section 5AAAA quarterfinals.
Maya Fitzpatrick scored 25 points to lead the fifth-seeded Rebels past the fourth-seeded Panthers.
The Rebels had a two-point lead at halftime, and the game remained close much of the way.
Spring Lake Park did build a seven-point lead in the second half before Champlin Park rallied.
After each team scored six points in the first overtime, the Rebels outscored the Panthers 10-3 in the second overtime.
Champlin Park now faces top seed Park Center in the semifinals Saturday at Anoka High School.
