Champlin Park Football Team Beats Maple Grove
The Champlin Park football team beat Maple Grove 31-15 to cap off a 7-1 regular season.
It’s the first time the Rebels and Crimson played since 2014.
D.J. Myles intercepted a pass for Champlin Park on the first play from scrimmage.
It set up a touchdown for the Rebels as Jaice Miller hit Brock Johnson for a 13-yard touchdown pass.
The Rebels added ten more points in the opening quarter to take a 17-7 lead.
They added two touchdowns in the second quarter, including a 63-yard interception return by Devon Moore.
Champlin Park earned the top seed from Section 5 for the upcoming class 6A playoffs.
The Rebels are the only team with a first-round bye.
Maple Grove finished the regular season at 4-4. They host Minnetonka in the opening round of the playoffs.
