Champlin Park/Coon Rapids Girls Hockey Skates Past Rogers 3-1
Lily McKenzie netted a hat trick as the Champlin Park/Coon Rapids girls hockey team skated to a 3-1 win over Rogers Tuesday.
McKenzie scored 49 seconds into the game off an assist from June Semling to put the Bluebirds ahead for good.
Leading 2-0 later in the period on McKenzie’s second goal, the Royals got a power play goal when Lauren Swanson scored on her own rebound to make it 2-1 after one period.
McKenzie capped the scoring in the third period with her third goal of the night and sixth of the season.
Maddie Wostrel made 19 saves in net for CP-CR to earn the win.
Champlin Park-Coon Rapids is now 3-1 on the season while Rogers falls to 0-3.
