Champlin Park-Coon Rapids Girls Hockey Skates into Season
The Champlin Park-Coon Rapids girls hockey team will get some tough tests to start the season.
They open against top-ranked Andover Friday night, and face sixth-ranked Maple Grove next week.
The CPCR players and coaches say they were pleasantly surprised by the flow of early practices.
Players on all teams are shaking off the rust of a six-week layoff after the pause to high school sports because of COVID-19.
The Bluebirds return five of their top six forwards and three of their top four defenders from a team that won 14 games last season.
