Champlin Park Boys Hockey Set for Section 5AA Final
The Champlin Park boys hockey team beat Maple Grove 3-2 in the Section 5AA semifinals Saturday to advance to Thursday’s section final against Rogers.
The Rebels had lost in the semifinals the past three seasons and will be playing in their first section final since 2013.
Champlin Park’s lone trip to state came in the early days of the high school in 1995.
Rogers is looking for its first state appearance.
The Rebels and Royals meet at 7:00 Thursday night at Elk River.
Rogers won the regular season meeting 8-2 in mid-December.
