Champlin Park Boys Basketball Holds Off Totino-Grace
In a great matchup of two of the top teams in the state, the Champlin Park boys basketball team beat Totino-Grace 75-65 Thursday.
Champlin Park is ranked number one in the state in the largest class, AAAA. Totino-Grace is ranked second in class AAA.
Champlin Park jumped out to an early lead, and were up by four points at halftime.
They pushed the lead into double figures but couldn’t quite put the Eagles away until late in the game.
Dylan Gichaba scored 18 points, with Josh Strong and Francis Nwakorie each adding 16 for the Rebels.
Taison Chatman led four Eagles in double figures with 13 points.
Champlin Park is now 9-0. They face another test against a top Northwest Suburban Conference foe when they play Park Center Wednesday.
Totino-Grace lost for just the second time this season.
