Champlin Park Boys Basketball Holds Off Centennial
The Champlin Park boys basketball team was able to hold off Centennial in the quarterfinals of the Section 5AAAA tournament, but it wasn’t easy.
The Rebels had a four-point lead after a back-and-forth first half, and they pushed the lead to as much as 20 points in the second half.
The Cougars came back strong and it ended up as a three-point victory, 81-78, for Champlin Park.
Josiah Strong had 30 points to lead the Rebels, surpassing 1,000 career points along the way.
Champlin Park faces Osseo in the section semifinals Tuesday.
