Champlin Park Baseball Rallies Past TG
The Champlin Park baseball team rallied past Totino-Grace for a 6-5 win in nine innings.
The game was a second round contest in the Section 5AAAA tournament.
Top seed Totino-Grace built a 5-1 lead through five innings, only to see Champlin Park rally.
The Rebels tied the game 5-5 in the top of the seventh when Tyler Guckeen’s soft liner just eluded TG shortstop Ben Palmer.
Cameron Hammonds scored the tying run on the play.
Guckeen delivered again in the ninth when his line drive went off the tip of the second baseman’s glove, scoring Carter Fox.
Champlin Park meets Mounds View in the winner’s bracket final Friday night at CHS Field.
