Champlin Park Baseball Edges Osseo in Section 5AAAA Tournament
Top seed Champlin Park edged fourth seed Osseo 1-0 in a second-round game in the Section 5AAAA baseball tournament Wednesday.
The Rebels scored the only run of the game in the fifth inning on a throwing error by Osseo.
Both pitchers excelled.
Champlin Park’s Tyler Phenow threw a three-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts.
Spencer Pederson of Osseo allowed just the unearned run and struck out six in six innings of work.
Champlin Park now faces Mounds View in the winner’s bracket final Friday evening.
Osseo is still alive and plays Spring Lake Park Friday.
Both of those games are at Osseo’s Memorial Field.
Maple Grove versus Totino-Grace starts the tripleheader of games there Friday.
