CCX Sports Spotlight: Warren Olson and Chuck Tabor
In this week’s CCX Sports Spotlight segment John Jacobson profiles long-time local high school coaches Warren Olson and Chuck Tabor.
Both men passed away on May 8th.
Olson, 85, was the head football coach at Brooklyn Center High School from 1976-1990 and is a member of the Minnesota Football Coaches’ Association Hall of Fame, inducted in 1992.
Tabor, 92, was the head baseball coach first at Robbinsdale High School from 1967-1982 and then at Cooper High School from 1983 until retirement in 1990. Tabor was inducted into the Minnesota Baseball Coaches’ Association Hall of Fame in 2012.
A private family ceremony for Tabor was held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. A funeral service for Olson will be held this summer.
