CCX Sports Spotlight: RJ Chakolis
In this week’s CCX Sports Spotlight story Jason Melillo profiles Hopkins High school wrestler and football player RJ Chakolis.
The Royals’ senior is the state’s top-ranked wrestler at 220 pounds and is aiming for a second straight individual state championship later this month after winning the 195-pound Class AAA title in 2020.
Earlier this season he became the school’s all-time leader in wins.
RJ hopes to be able to both wrestle and play football in college. He was a first-team All-Metro linebacker for Hopkins last fall.
