CCX Sports Spotlight: Katie Kelzenberg, Wayzata
In this week’s CCX Sports Spotlight, John Jacobson profiles Wayzata three-sport athlete Katie Kelzenberg.
The senior is a three-year letter winner- and two-time state champion- in volleyball and one of the best middle hitters in the state.
While she plays club volleyball in the off-season from high school, she is also a starting post player for the Wayzata girls basketball team in the winter and competes in track and field in the spring, throwing both the shot and the discus. Katie finished in the top three in the state in both events last spring.
She is undecided on a college and what sport or sports she will play but in the classroom plans on studying something in the science field.
Wayzata begins play Tuesday in the Section 5AAAA tournament.
