CCX Sports Spotlight: Henry Stang, Maple Grove Boys Basketball/Football
Our CCX Sports Spotlight this week shines on Maple Grove senior two-sport standout Henry Stang. Jay Wilcox profiles the basketball/football star.
Stang scored 21 points in a close loss to Park Center in the Section 5AAAA boys basketball final Thursday. He topped the Crimson in scoring this winter at 20 points per game and broke the school single-game scoring record with 45 points against Roseville in the section quarterfinals.
He helped the Maple Grove football team to a state title in his junior year and was a two-way standout this past fall as a senior.
Stang plans to end his athletic career at the high school level.
He’ll attend the university of Arizona and hopes to get into the medical field in some capacity.
