CCX Sports Spotlight: Grace Erickson, Bella Shipley, Dani Strom, Maple Grove Girls Hockey
Our CCX Sports Spotlight this week features three senior captains for the Maple Grove girls hockey team: defender Grace Erickson, forward Bella Shipley, and goalie Dani Strom.
The trio has helped lead a Crimson team that features a lot of young players to a 17-6-1 record entering Saturday’s regular season finale.
Strom is one of the state’s top goalies and will play college hockey at the University of St. Thomas.
Shipley is Maple Grove’s leading scorer and will play for Minnesota State-Mankato.
Erickson is the top defender and perhaps most improved player for the Crimson. She will bypass college hockey offers to study finance at the University of Minnesota.
Maple Grove opens play in the Section 5AA tournament next weekend.
