Britt 3rd on Vault, Mouyenga 5th on Beam at State Gymnastics
Hopkins’ NyahSymone Britt finished third in the vault while Wayzata’s Ashley Mouyenga placed fifth on the balance beam as the only two local girls to earn medals at the Class AA individual state gymnastics meet.
Britt scored a 9.725 on the vault, just off the 9.8 score she threw during team competition on Friday.
Mouyenga’s score on the balance beam was 9.475.
Mikaela Lundvall of Wayzata was the only other gymnast from the area to finish in the top 10.
Lundvall was 10th both on the uneven bars and in the all-around.
