Breck Tops Andover in Girls Hockey Showdown
The Breck girls hockey team won the state class A title last season.
Saturday they showed they are a threat to win it again.
The Mustangs beat Andover 5-4 in a game matching the top-ranked teams in Class A and AA.
The visiting Huskies scored the first two goals of the game to lead 2-0 after one.
A huge second period turned the tide Breck’s way.
The Mustangs scored four times in the period to go up 4-2.
While Andover twice pulled within a goal in the third, Breck held on for a big victory.
It’s the first loss of the season for Andover.
Olivia Mobley had two goals and an assist for Breck.
Sadie Lindsay and Hannah Halverson each had three points as well.
The Mustangs improved to 13-4-0 with the win.
