Breck Girls Soccer Beats Heritage in 5A Semifinals
Akilah Anderson and Annie Grossman scored two goals each to lead the Breck girls’ soccer team to a 5-3 win over Heritage Christian Academy in the semifinals of the Section 5A tournament.
Both scored in the first half to stake the Mustangs to a 2-0 halftime lead.
Trailing 3-0 in the second half Heritage got on the scoreboard with a goal from Malayna Mokosso.
Katie Theissen’s goal for Breck put the Mustangs up by three goals again at 4-1.
Kyle Hartel and Hattie Sandager scored the other goals for Heritage.
The Eagles finish the season with an 8-7-0 record.
Breck (6-8-3) plays at top-seeded Providence Academy Tuesday night for the section title.
The Lions beat the Mustangs twice during the regular season.
