Breck Girls Soccer Advances to State Class A Final
The Breck girls soccer team beat top seed Holy Family 4-1 in the semifinals to advance to the state class A final.
It was a wild start, with three goals in the first four minutes of the game.
Breck’s Georgia Lewin-Mills opened the scoring about a minute and a half into the contest.
After Holy Family tied it on Mimi Pavelka’s long blast, the Mustangs struck again as Dylan Baker scored to make it 2-1.
Lewin-Mills hooked a corner kick in off a defender midway through the first half to give Breck a 3-1 lead.
JoJo Weissman added a goal in the second half to seal the win.
It’s Breck’s first state tournament appearance in girls soccer and they will shoot for a title Saturday.
The Mustangs meet Minnehaha Academy at 6:00 p.m. at U.S. Bank Stadium.
