Breck Girls Hockey Wins Playoff Opener
The Breck girls hockey team dominated on the way to a 4-1 win over Princeton/Becker/Big Lake in the Section 5A quarterfinals Wednesday in Golden Valley.
The Mustangs outshot the Tigers 49-8 in the game, but PBBL goalie Alayna Boe had a strong game in goal to keep her team in it.
Breck broke a scoreless tie late in the first period with a powerplay goal with seven seconds remaining.
They added two more powerplay goals in the second.
Maggie Wallander and Lucia Juenke each scored two goals for Breck, with Alexis Ulrich adding three assists.
Third seed Breck now meets second seed Mound-Westonka in the semifinals Saturday.
