Breck Girls Hockey Beats Blake to Advance to Championship Game
The Breck girls hockey team held off rival Blake for a 3-2 win in the state class A semifinals Friday afternoon, sending the Mustangs to the championship game.
Clara Milinkovich made 42 saves in the game for Breck.
Breck led 2-1 after one period on goals from Aleah LaFleur and Mackenna Schlieman.
Taylor Hall scored the only goal of the second period to put Breck up 3-1 heading to the third.
Milinkovich made some key saves before Blake’s Bryn Heinmiller scored on a rebound with 12 seconds left in the game.
Breck held on for the win, their fourth over Blake this season.
Second seed Breck meets top seed Warroad for the class A title Saturday.
Breck has won four state titles and Warroad five in girls hockey.
