Breck Edges Maranatha in Boys Basketball Thriller
Two good teams went head-to-head in the Section 5AA boys basketball quarterfinals, and Breck emerged with a 71-69 win over Maranatha.
Breck broke a tie in the final seconds when David Roddy set up Eric McDavid for the go-ahead basket.
Roddy then blocked a Maranatha shot at the other end and a last desperation three-pointer missed for the Mustangs.
Breck now meets the top seed, Minneapolis North, in the semifinals Wednesday.
