Breck Boys Soccer Kicks Off Season with 1-1 Tie vs. Southwest Christian
The Breck boys soccer team kicked off their season with a 1-1 tie against Southwest Christian in a rematch of last year’s Section 6A final.
Neither team scored in the first half, Breck’s junior goalkeeper Zach Lerner came up with some saves late in the half.
The Mustangs scored in the 46th minute when Jude Meli connected with Elan Choudry on a centering pass and goal to put Breck in front.
The Stars responded in the 65th minute when Andrew Denton bounced a ball in off his chest to even the score at one.
The Mustangs had a breakaway, one-on-one opportunity late in the second half, but couldn’t connect and the game ended in a tie.
