Breck Boys Hockey Upset in Section Quarterfinals
The Breck boys hockey team was upset in their quarterfinal round game Thursday, losing 4-3 to Minneapolis in the opening round of the Section 2A playoffs.
Breck took a 2-1 lead after the first period on goals from Garrett Trench and Colten Crook but Minneapolis scored the next three goals over a period and a half to lead 4-2.
Eric Larson scored for the Mustangs in the game’s final seconds to make the final 4-3.
Breck (18-7-1) was the number three seed in Section 2 with Minneapolis (13-12-2) seeded sixth.
Minneapolis now faces second-seeded Blake in the semifinals on Tuesday.
