Breck Boys Basketball Captures First State Title
The Breck boys basketball team capped off a tremendous season with the program’s first state title. The Mustangs edged Lake City 76-72 in the class AA championship game.
After leading by one at halftime, Breck took a 12-point lead before Lake City rallied to within one point late.
Breck held on for the win to finish 31-1. Daniel Freitag, the Wisconsin recruit and Mr. Basketball finalist, had 33 points and 8 rebounds to lead Breck to the title in its second-ever state appearance. Miles Newton added 16 points and DeAngelo Dungey 12 for Breck.
