Breck Boys Basketball Beats Minneapolis North for Section 5AA Title
The Breck boys basketball team is headed to the state tournament for the second time in program history after beating Minneapolis North 91-74 in the Section 5AA championship game.
After North started the game strong to lead 7-0, Breck took control and went up 50-34 at halftime.
The Polars surged to within five points on a couple of occasions, but Breck regained control to pull away for the win. Daniel Freitag had 27 points and Hanif Muhammad 26 to lead the Mustangs, who enter the class AA tournament as the top seed with a 28-1 record.
Breck plays Waseca Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Williams Arena.
