Breck/Blake Wins Sixth Straight State Swim Championship
The Breck/Blake boys swimming and diving team won its sixth consecutive state championship Saturday with a record-breaking performance.
The Bearstangs set a state meet-record with 495.5 team points, nearly 300 more than runner-up Alexandria.
In addition the team set state Class A meet records in the 200 yard medley relay and 400 freestyle relay events with other records set by Charlie Egeland in the 200 free, James Pan in the 200 IM and Charlie Crosby in both the 50 and 100 free.
Crosby not only set meet records but all-time Minnesota records in the 50 (19.57 seconds) and 100 (46.41/prelims).
Pan and Crosby won two individual races each and were both part of winning relays.
The Bearstangs won nine of the 12 events and placed in the other three. It’s the eighth state title overall for Breck/Blake.
