Breck/Blake Swims to 8th Straight State Title
The Breck/Blake boys swimming and diving team took gold on the podium—again.
The Bearstangs captured their eighth straight state class A championship on Saturday- a Minnesota record for consecutive state titles in boys swimming.
Breck/Blake totaled 327 points, 103 more than runner-up St. Thomas Academy. Benilde-St. Margaret’s finished seventh.
The Bearstangs had at least one swimmer finish in the top three of every event with the exception of the 100 yard backstroke and won seven races in all.
Andrew Colgan was a double winner, taking first place in both the 200 yard individual medley and 100 yard breaststroke.
Henry Webb set a Class A state meet record in the 200 yard freestyle preliminaries (1:36.94) while Josiah March set a record in the 500 freestyle finals (4:32.99).
