Boys Basketball Playoffs Tip Off for Local Teams
Section playoffs tip off this week for boys basketball teams in the northwest suburbs and across Minnesota.
In Section 5AAAA, District 279 teams are the top three seeds.
Park Center is the top seed and carries a 25-1 record into the postseason. The Pirates are ranked number one in the state.
Osseo is the number two seed, with a 20-6 record. Maple Grove is seeded third.
In Section 6AAAA, defending state champion Wayzata is the top seed. The Trojans are 22-4.
Hopkins is seeded second, with Cooper fourth and Armstrong fifth.
In class AAA, Totino-Grace is seeded second in Section 4AAA behind Columbia Heights. Those teams are 1-2 in the state poll, too.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s is the second seed in Section 6AAA.
Many quarterfinal games are Tuesday or Wednesday nights in various sections.
