Boye Mafe Ready for NFL Draft
Golden Valley native and Hopkins High School graduate Boye Mafe is expected to be selected in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft, which begins Thursday evening in Las Vegas.
Mafe played four years of college football at the University of Minnesota and led the Gophers in both tackles for losses and sacks.
That production, along with good off-season workouts and a strong Senior Bowl performance, has Mafe projected to be either a late first-round or a second-round selection.
“I already told myself ‘Don’t sit there and try to say this is going to happen.”, Mafe told CCX Sports. “Whatever feels right for the program (team), I think they’ll pick me and I’ll be excited wherever I go.”
Mafe played defensive line for the Gophers and is expected to be an edge rusher in the pros.
