Big Second Period Leads Wayzata Boys Hockey Past Benilde-St. Margaret’s
Two unanswered goals scored in the second period gave the Wayzata boys hockey team a lead and the Trojans ended up holding onto it for a 3-2 win over Benilde-St. Margaret’s.
Tate Roeder got Wayzata on the board first with a backdoor rebound goal thirteen minutes into the game.
The Red Knights answered with a goal from Cam Kirschner.
Goals from Chris Pyle and Nolan O’Connell in the second pushed the Trojans’ lead to 3-2.
Kirschner again scored in the third period, but junior goaltender Ryan Pellinger came up with some big stops for the Trojans down the stretch and preserved the Wayzata win.
