Benilde-St. Margaret’s Wins First Section Volleyball Title Since 1983
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s volleyball team won an epic five-set match over Delano, capturing the Section 6AAA title and sending the Red Knights to the state tournament for the first time since 1983.
The Red Knights lost the first set 27-25, won the second 25-19, lost the third 25-23 and then won the fourth set 25-20 and the fifth 15-10.
Lily Eigner led a balanced offensive attack for the Red Knights delivering 14 kills.
BSM will find out Sunday its quarterfinal round opponent for the state tournament which starts Wednesday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
