Benilde-St. Margaret’s Softball Rolls Past Cooper
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s softball team used three big innings to roll past Cooper 14-4 in six innings.
The Red Knights broke a 0-0 tie with five runs in the third inning, then added three more in the fourth for an 8-0 lead.
After Cooper battled back with four in the top of the sixth, BSM closed the game with six runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Pitcher Tibby Stewart pitched four scoreless innings for the Red Knights with seven strikeouts.
Sophie Melsness had a double and homerun for BSM, with Maggie Wozniak slugging two doubles.
Liv Haag and Michelle Doering also had two hits for the Red Knights.
Sydney Dixon reached base in all three of her plate appearances for Cooper, including a two-run double.
Benilde is now 8-2 this season; Cooper dropped to 1-3.
