Benilde-St. Margaret’s, Hill-Murray Tie 1-1 in Girls Hockey
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s and Hill-Murray girls hockey teams finished their regular seasons Tuesday, playing to a 1-1 tie. Both the Red Knights and the Pioneers are ranked in the top 10 in Class AA.
After a scoreless first period, B-SM’s Talla Hansen scored at 6:53 of the second period. Hill-Murray’s Jaycee Chatleain tied the game 1-1 with a power play goal at 12:02 of the second.
Pioneers’ goalie Grace Zhan finished the night with 46 saves. Red Knights’ goalies Elie Hancock and Demetra Walsma combined to make 30 saves.
B-SM finishes the regular season with a record of 20-3-2. The Red Knights are the top seed in Section 6AA and have a bye into next week’s semifinals.
Hill-Murray is now 21-3-1 and opens the Section 4AA playoffs with a quarterfinal round game Saturday against Two Rivers.
