Benilde-St. Margaret’s Girls Volleyball Falls to Marshall in AAA State Championship
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s girls volleyball team ended their season with a 3-1 (25-20, 25-15, 27-29, 25-17) loss to Marshall in the state class AAA championship match.
The Red Knights were down 2-0 and on the brink of getting swept when they rallied off five straight points to tie the third set at 24.
BSM went on to win the set 29-27, but couldn’t keep the momentum rolling into the fourth set.
Avery Minor led the Red Knights with 19 kills while Sydney Friedly racked up 46 assists.
Avery Fahl and Reese Drake both recorded 21 kills for the Tigers.
BSM closes their season with a 28-6 record and their program’s second state runner-up finish.
