Benilde-St. Margaret’s Girls Hockey Blanks Wayzata
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s girls hockey team finished off its regular season with a 2-0 shutout of Wayzata Thursday.
Emma Peschel scored a short-handed goal in the first period while Emma Hoen netted an empty net goal with 41 seconds remaining to finish the scoring.
Wayzata goalie Annika Lavender made 25 saves. Benilde-St. Margaret’s goalie Allie Van Stelten faced just eight shots in the game.
The Red Knights (10-3-3) and the Trojans (9-7-1) will both compete in the Section 6AA tournament beginning Tuesday.
The Trojans play Breck on Saturday in their final regular season game.
