Benilde-St. Margaret’s Girls Hockey Blanks Breck
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s girls hockey team skated to a 4-0 win over Breck Tuesday night.
The game was scoreless until midway through the second period when BSM’s Emma Peschel knocked home a rebound for a goal. Anna Podein scored less than two minutes later to make it 2-0.
Peschel scored her second goal of the night in the third period and Sophie Melness added an empty net goal.
The Red Knights (8-2-3) are ranked fourth in Class AA; The Mustangs (6-4) are ranked fifth in Class A.
Breck was coached by assistants Abby Roque and Leah Schwartzman after head coach Steve Persian and four other assistant coaches resigned this week.
