Benilde-St Margaret’s Girls Basketball Wins State Opener
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s girls basketball team is aiming for another title.
The three-time defending state class AAA champion Red Knights breezed past Rock Ridge 88-53 in the AAA quarterfinals Wednesday afternoon.
Fast break points and made three-pointers were key for BSM in building a 50-29 lead in a foul-marred first half.
Kiera Willis had 19 points to lead the Red Knights, with Sydney Friedly (15), Mirabel Wismer (13) and Pressly Watkins (12) also in double figures.
Second seed BSM meets third seed Marshall in the semifinals Thursday.
