Benilde-St. Margaret’s Girls Basketball Advances to Class AAA Final
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s girls basketball team beat Alexandria 70-51 in the class AAA semifinals to advance to the championship game.
Both teams shot well in the first half, with Benilde gaining a 36-30 halftime lead.
They blew the game open early in the second half and never let the Cardinals back in it.
Olivia Olson had 33 points and 13 rebounds to key the BSM attack.
The Red Knights had to overcome an injury to standout sophomore Kendall McGee, who left early in the game and didn’t return.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s now meets Stewartville, a one-point winner over top seed Becker in their semifinal game, for the championship Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
