Benilde-St. Margaret’s Boys Hockey Skates Past Armstrong-Cooper in 6AA
Benilde-St. Margaret’s scored three goals in under four minutes late in the first period to help the Red Knights earn a 5-1 win over Armstrong-Cooper in the quarterfinal round of the Section 6AA boys hockey tournament.
Westan Quirk opened the scoring with a goal at the 11:09 mark of the first period. B-SM also got goals in the game from Caleb Koskie, Mason Minor, Mason Stenger and Junior Podein.
The Wings’ lone goal was scored by Tanner Rausch. Armstrong-Cooper’s season ends with a 12-14 record.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s (21-4-1) advances to Saturday’s 6AA semifinals where they will play Edina at 4:00 pm at the Bloomington Ice Garden.
Top-seeded Wayzata faces Holy Angels in the first 6AA semifinal Saturday at 12 noon.
