Benilde-St. Margaret’s Boys Hockey Edges Holy Family
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s boys hockey team won a back-and-forth matchup of two of the best teams in class AA with a 3-2 win over Holy Family.
The Fire scored the only goal in the first period coming from an Erik Charchenko shot from the point.
The Red Knights responded in the second with goals from Ben Norris and AJ Ulrich.
Holy Family tied the game up before the second period was over, but the Red Knights got the game-winning goal from Junior Podein on a 5-on-3 early in the third period. With the win, BSM advances to 7-1 on the season. They’ll play Champlin Park and Holy Angels to finish the Premier Holiday Classic tournament.
