Benilde-St. Margaret’s Baseball Tops Winona in Tournament Opener
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s baseball team won its Class AAA state tournament opener Tuesday, beating Winona 4-1.
The Red Knights scored single runs in the second through fifth innings and took advantage of four Winona errors to score three unearned runs.
Caleb Koskie had two of BSM’s four hits and scored a run.
Owen Orndahl pitched six shutout innings to earn the win for the Red Knights.
BSM then defeated Grand Rapids 10-8 in the tournament semifinals Wednesday afternoon and will play in the state Class AAA championship game Friday at 4:00 pm at Target Field.
