Benilde-St. Margaret’s Baseball Beats Grand Rapids to Advance to Championship
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s baseball team won a high-scoring battle 10-8 over Grand Rapids in the state class AAA semifinals.
The Red Knights advance to Friday’s championship game.
Benilde jumped out to a 4-0 lead, scoring two runs in each of the first two innings.
Grand Rapids responded with six in the top of the third to go in front 6-4.
BSM responded with three runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth to secure the win.
Tomas Lee was 2-for-3 with 4 runs batted in for Benilde.
Dan Porisch was 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
The Red Knights meet Mankato West for the state class AAA title Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Target Field.
Benilde was second in the 2019 class AAA tournament.
