Bazzachini Brings Coaching Knowledge to Wayzata Hockey
John Bazzachini has coached hockey for over 30 years. A veteran of both high school and local college coaching ranks, he is now in his first summer of working with the Wayzata girls’ hockey program.
Bazzachini was hired in late April, and replaces Taylor Willamson who stepped down after last season. Among his coaching stops are Hopkins, Irondale and Totino-Grace high schools plus St. Olaf and St. Thomas for college.
He’s spent time during summer training with the Trojans working on skills and fundamentals and stressing team and individual defense.
The Trojans are coming off a 17-9-1 season and lost some talented seniors but are excited for what a new season, and this new coaching staff can offer.
