Balanced Scoring Effort Leads Wayzata Boys Basketball Past Minnetonka
On senior night, the Wayzata boys basketball team used a flurry of threes midway through the second half and a balanced scoring effort to defeat Minnetonka 103-88.
The Trojans had five players score in double figures. Creighton commit Jackson McAndrew led the way with 21 points, while fellow senior Ben Shaffer also put up 20 points.
Wyatt McBeth (16), Brayden Sandmann (15 ), and Isaac Olmstead (13) all cracked double digits in scoring as well.
Andy Stefonowicz led the Skippers on the night with 24 points.
Wayzata capped the regular season with a 25-1 record and a Lake Conference title.
The Trojans will open the section 6AAAA tournament against the winner of Edina and Armstrong on Friday.
