2024 Athena Award Winners Honored
It was a big day for 54 Minneapolis-area high school senior girls.
The annual Athena Awards ceremony Friday recognized excellence in high school athletics and academics. Each of the participating Minneapolis-area high schools chooses one senior girl each year to receive the Athena.
A luncheon and ceremony to recognize the winners took place Friday in Brooklyn Center.
The awards started in 1973, one year after the landmark Title IX legislation was passed.
14 girls from our local CCX area high schools were honored.
