Armstrong Volleyball Team Hopes to Contend for State Berth
The Armstrong volleyball team hopes to contend for a state tournament berth this season.
The Falcons have a rich volleyball history that includes seven state championships.
They haven’t been in the state tournament since 2003.
Last fall Armstrong made a strong playoff run to reach the Section 6AAA final.
They lost a five-set battle to Edina, but that experience gave the program a shot in the arm.
Christine Denson and Mike Vogel are the new co-head coaches after serving as assistants to Ayesha Khan last season.
Denson was former head coach at Minnetonka.
The Falcons are 5-4 early this season after placing second at the Coon Rapids tournament over the weekend.
