Armstrong Rallies Past Park Center in Boys Basketball
The Armstrong boys basketball team rallied to beat second ranked Park Center 76-73 Thursday.
It’s Armstrong’s ninth straight win after a season-opening loss to Hopkins.
Park Center played without 6’10” Baylor recruit Dain Dainja.
Park Center had the lead for most of the first half, building a 36-27 halftime lead.
After Armstrong quickly pulled within four early in the second half, the Pirates went ahead by eleven.
Armstrong put together an impressive run to surge into the lead, and they held off a late Pirates’ rally.
Adam Biewen hit a pair of clutch three pointers for Armstrong down the stretch and finished with 20 points.
Jake Breitbach added 18, with Hezekiah Iyawe at 12 points and Benhur Solomon 10.
Armstrong is now 9-1.
Park Center’s Joshua Brown scored 19 points, with David Ijadimbola at 17 and Detavius Frierson 15.
The Pirates fell to 7-3.
