Armstrong Girls Basketball Wins Playoff Opener
The Armstrong girls basketball team won its playoff opener, beating Minneapolis Washburn 56-45 in the Section 6AAAA quarterfinals.
Armstrong built an eight-point halftime lead at 29-21.
Washburn stormed out to a 9-0 run to begin the second half to take the lead briefly.
Armstrong grabbed the lead back and eventually built it to double figures on the way to the win.
Marin Wilson had 16 points to lead Armstrong, with Ella Cooley (12) and Brianna Dumas (11) also in double figures.
The Falcons face top seed Wayzata in the semifinals Saturday.
