Armstrong-Cooper Girls Soccer Beats Heritage With Late Goal
The Armstrong-Cooper girls soccer team beat Heritage Christian Academy 2-1 in the season opener for both teams, with a late goal providing the winning margin.
Marin Scherber chipped in a crossing pass from Abby Hanson with a little more than two minutes remaining in the game to give the Wings the win.
Hanson set up Jess Bloom for a goal 9 1/2 minutes into the first half to get Armstrong-Cooper started.
Heritage tied the game just 40 seconds later as a corner kick deflected in off traffic in front of the net.
