Armstrong-Cooper Girls Hockey Wins Holiday Tournament Opener
The Armstrong-Cooper girls hockey team won in style in the tournament opener of their own holiday classic, beating North Shore 8-2.
North Shore is a co-op of Two Harbors, Silver Bay and Grand Marais.
Armstrong-Cooper broke a scoreless tie with four goals in a span of 2:06 in the first period.
Paige Loidolt and Lydia College each scored two in the first period.
Claire Riestenberg also scored twice, one goal in the second period and one in the third.
The Wings meet Bemidji in the semifinals Wednesday at New Hope Ice Arena.
